Are Most People Irrational?

In my experience most people are too irrational to have a good conversation with. Does that mean that they are always irrational? No. I think there are moments in time where even the most irrational people if you catch them at the right time can have a pretty rational conversation but there are certainly some who will refuse to ever have a rational conversation. A clear example of that is can you imagine some of the Democrats and media and politics even trying to have a rational conversation with a Republican candidate? There are certainly some people in the Democrat Party who refused to have a rational conversation with President Bush or President Trump. And the two common denominators between President Bush and President Trump is that they were the nominees of the Republican Party.

There are many reasons that people tend to be irrational in a conversation. Here are a few reasons, people tune into different subjects from a different context, people have picked up on different biases on different subjects over the years and have dealt with stubborn people on certain subjects that if you end up bringing up the same subject it may be that subject that they are resisting do to having heard angry people speak on it before whether you’re that way or not.

Sometimes it is a spiritual problem and sometimes it’s fatigue or being busy and a conversation not fitting into their priorities.

But I guess the main point of this blog here is just the site that despite the fact that probably more people are irrational today than any other time in history, and that’s debatable, but there are definitely times I think that people can be reached when they are tired of being irrational.

Why do I tend to think that there are more irrational people today than any other time in history when it comes to speaking about God and philosophy and things like that? I think it’s because something I can say is most definitely true – the fact that we hear more lies today than any other time in history if we follow the news through the television and we hear repetition of the news elsewhere, we are hearing more lies than any other time in history. I’ll make an exception to that I’ll say today we can also hear more truth than any other time in history and that’s because TV and radio have grown venues that are battling to bring us the truth. But 10 years ago 20 years ago 30 years ago there weren’t many venues on radio or television who were truth tellers that were allowed to take a seat in front of a public microphone.

Yes, there is still a huge battle to silence the truth and that comes frankly directly from the Democrat Party in America and their media supporters. They really don’t believe in the freedom of speech for moral things. And I do think it’s a fact that a lot of people are steered from having rational conversations because they’ve been taught so many lies which include teaching us that it is offensive to speak about religion and politics.

But if we rewind and look back at the Old testament of the Bible we see that God used Moses to help lead the Israelites Away from slavery to the Egyptians. And when they were wandering in the wilderness to find a new land to settle for many years they were very irrational and very impatient.

I can speak on that myself. I can be like that myself even though I have a strong Hope and Faith in the fact that life is going to get better in the second life. We’re going to have a heaven and hell and I’ve chosen to go to heaven, but I still get discontent and discouraged and impatient and waiting down here for heaven and taking my eyes off the prize and that manifests itself in a way that to some people that looks like lack of faith but I would call it more like an impatience and forgetting my faith sometimes, or being irrational and rationalizing doing things that are not convenient or our counterproductive and lead to sin or perhaps taking my eyes off the prize is a sin.

So in conclusion I didn’t know I would come to this conclusion but I guess in fact not just most people are irrational at times we are all irrational at times, but we should all have a goal to be more rational and loving to ourselves our neighbors and to God and that starts with loving and trusting God.

Trusting in God is not very irrational when you had Jesus come down to be born in front of our faces in front of the faces of human beings who’ve written and told us about the story. He lived 33 years in front of witnesses, he died on the cross and forgave us why he was on the cross. On the third day from crucifixion he rose from the dead and escaped the tomb with guards from the strongest military the world had known at that time. Christ then walked the Earth almost 40 days after he rose from the dead and in front of witnesses he showed dad and Thomas the scars in his hands and feet and let him touch them. I’m not sure if they were scars or holes still in his hands and feet. Then after the almost 40 days that I mentioned, he flew up into the clouds you send it up into the clouds like Superman I guess he went slower so the witnesses could clearly see him ascending into the clouds.

Frankly, with all the evidence that Christ gave us of Hope for a second life and his power to rise from the dead and with all that power he forgave us while he was on the cross – it is irrational to ignore all that evidence and not to want a second life, to be protected by God’s power in the second life particularly, and not to want his love and forgiveness. What rational Spirit wouldn’t want that?
